Advertisement Posters from China This is an originnal advertisement poster published in China during the 1930's. I picked up a batch of these when visiting Beijing several years ago and will be putting some of them up for sale some day. Currently there are many reproductions of this type poster being offered on eBay. The repros look nice in their promotional pictures but in person they are just a shadow of the originals. The image shown here is in a realistic but highly polished style showing the fine detail in the labels of the jars of makeup. The products are showcased elements of the design and layout. They are presented in a very direct way. This type poster is the pinnacle of commercial presentation with top level production values. The glamour of the model matches the glamour of the products, all prominently displayed. This style caught the attention of a shop owner in Hong Kong in 1991 where the store only carried items reproducing images of this style. Imagine this image on wrapping paper, greeting cards, pencil boxes, and more. That store only lasted a few months but the original posters have stayed in sight through widespread distribution of reproductions in every Chinatown in the world. eBay is now one chain of distribution.
